Thirty one.
My dear baby boy,
on your first day of kindergarten.

I sure am not ready
for this moment.
It has crept up far too fast
and I am in disbelief
that my baby boy
is leaping into this big world.
Despite my best attempts
to slow down time
and keep you wrapped up
under my wing,
you are slipping out of reach.
But I do know
you are dripping in confidence
and a possess charm so bewitching
that all your wrongdoings
that I have to believe
you will be just fine.

Each day during the month of January I take a photo of my children, and share these little pieces of our life here. Childhood goes so quickly and it’s in the little moments of each day that we live and show our true selves. I do this project not only for me, but for my boys to one day look back at these photos along with my letters to them, and know without a doubt how much they are loved.
