Today my heart broke with yours.
And it hurt even more knowing that there is so much in this world
Pain, loss and sadness that you have yet to come across,
To learn that it even exists.
For my darling child, as much as we try
We cannot stop what will be,
We cannot shelter you from the ugly parts of life forever
But we can be there to hold your hand
And comfort you through it
And explain to you the cycle of life
Of letting go, of remembering
Of how we must life for the moment
And trust and believe
That there is far more beauty in this world
Than there ever will be sadness.
