This world will tell you
you must be busy
you must keep
the wheels spinning
you must not
or you will fall behind.
The world will want of you
more than you will be
willing to give.
In those times
that you feel
pulled in all directions,
beginning to unravel,
seek out your quite places.
Go to where you hear
only your soul speak.
Go to where the salty sea
kisses your toes
and the waves gently ebb and flow.
Go to where the only noise
is the soft wind
whispering to you
to slow your breath
and rest your eyes.
And in that still moment,
the quietness and space,
you will feel the calm and certainty,
as this world turns you
into a new direction.

Each day during the month of January I take a photo of my children, and share these little pieces of our life here. Childhood goes so quickly and it’s in the little moments of each day that we live and show our true selves. I do this project not only for me, but for my boys to one day look back at these photos along with my letters to them, and know without a doubt how much they are loved.
