Growing up, I used to see these wildflowers everywhere.
I thought they were the ugliest flowers,
Always so dry and brittle looking against the other lust, robust plants of BC’s rainforest.
I’m still not sure what they are called but I just called them the ugly cauliflower weeds.
Until I took a closer look at them.
They were actually formed from the most perfect
Delicate little paper roses.
With a yellow crown of stamens
Circling the soft white centre petals.
This image is now my desktop wallpaper
As every now and again this reminder is needed.
Beauty is always there. In everything.
Sometimes you just need to take a better look.
